Inglewood Furniture have been designing and making Shoji screens since 1998, prror to this our team of expert craftsmen have all had extensive experience in cabinet making and joinery. It was through this experience of fitting bespoke furniture in London homes and offices where limited space is so often an issue that we realized how many places could benefit from oriental interior design.

Inglewood Furniture will design, make and install Shoji screens and Japanese influenced furniture within the London area. Top quality Scandinavian pine and cedar are the preferred timbers, but for a higher premium a wide
variety of beautiful hard woods may be used. For the majority of Shoji, the screens slides on a simple wooden track, resting on or set into the floor, though the heavier acrylic-backed screens may need to be top hung from a metal sliding door track. In the case of windows the screens may slide either horizontally or vertically as with a sash window.
Designs for Shoji vary according to the ˇ§kumikoˇ¨ (lattice pattern) and the size and number of screens. It is important to point out that every screen we produce is unique an tailored to the individual clientˇ¦s home. So it is advisable to discuss these matters carefully before making a final decision. We find this is best achieved through a visit to your home or office where samples of material can be studied and measurements made. However we are more than happy to provide quotation by post if a simple but accurate drawing is provided.
